Packham's Triumph is a good quality and reliable pear. Medium fruit prone to being small, when it can frequently crop very heavily. Bright green changing to pale yellow with occasional russet and has an unusual bumpy appearance. Pale yellow flesh is juicy, fine with a musky flavour. The tree itself is compact in habit so is perfect for a small garden space. Grown on a large commercial scale in Australia.
Size: Up to 5 metres when mature
Harvest: late Feb to mid-March

The Packham also known as Packham’s Triumph are wide bottomed pears that lean slightly to one side. The fruit has a green skin covered in tiny russet speckles which ripens to a light yellow. The flesh is a creamy white colour with a smooth texture. The fruit are delicious when eaten fresh as they are among the sweetest and juiciest of all pears.
Packham’s Triumph need low temperature to fruit, but needs cross pollination, with Rosemarie or Clapps as popular pollinator choices. No pruning necessary.
